Onboard fishing lights stay above the water. Mounted on a gunwale, hardtop, mast or dock, they flood the surrounding surface with 800W to 1600W of light and pull bait fish to the boat without putting anything in the water. Comlite’s models run on 110-265V AC, so they take a generator or shore supply directly, and are built for permanent installation.

Because these fittings sit above the waterline, the specification questions are different from a submersible light: beam spread and glare control matter more than pressure sealing, and IP65 is normally sufficient. Aim them slightly outward and downward to light the water without blinding the deck.

Choosing an Onboard Fishing Light

  • Match output to the vessel. 800W suits small commercial boats and private docks; 1200-1600W suits working boats that need to light a wide circle of water.
  • Check the supply range. These models take 110-265V AC, so they tolerate generator voltage swing and work on most shore supplies.
  • Plan the mounting. Gunwale and hardtop mounts need a solid fixing point and a cable route back to the supply. Check reach before ordering.
  • Watch the glare. A flood light aimed at the deck is a safety problem. Mount high and aim outward.
